Manhattan high-rise living 5th Avenue – semestrální projekt
Manhattan is a laboratory of architecture.
It is a very artificial place made by humans.
Nowadays it is possible to grow a new human being in a laboratory. This being so, we can develop a new type of architecture a very natural one in a completely unnatural environment – Manhattan.
The designed building combines two concepts – stacking and layering of different typologies and the redefinition of the Theorem from creating independent platforms to the vertically connected ones.
The aim is to conserve the conveinience of air and privacy as well as to enable the possibilities for creating public space at the intersecting points.
There are four main cores with elevators stopping at the intersection points. The building is set onto the existing built-up structure to demonstrate the idea of layering.
